Open Rehearsals transforms the exhibition space into an active site of artistic production, inviting the public to observe and engage with an open creative process. Drawing on training in both the Martha Graham technique and sculpture, West develops a new performance by preparing costumes, drafting a score, building props, and rehearsing with dancers. Rather than presenting a finished work, Open Rehearsals foregrounds choreography as a process of experimentation, revision, and collective making.
