(3)A lounge, a lobby
A lounge, a lobby is a quartet in which four dancers move through varying states of boredom and routine. Moments of sitting, standing, and waiting are interrupted by campy gestures and repetitive walking phrases. By combining found dance with everyday movement, the work explores appropriation as a choreographic method while revisiting modern dance's longstanding interest in the pedestrian. Ordinary behavior becomes performance through repetition, rhythm, and collective timing.
